Six athletes proudly represented Cowichan Field Hockey Association on the U14 Vancouver Central Coast Squad at the Langley 2010 B.C. Summer games. Chelsey Cleemoff, Jenner Court, Tara Eriksen, Stefanie Langkammer, Claire Seeliger, and Madelyn Smith. Games scores were close all weekend and two wins out of four preliminary games brought the girls into a battle for bronze. Girls should remain proud of their play as they played well and showed skill right till the end of the weekend; although they did not walk away with a medal this time they gained valuable experience and lifelong memories. Above is a photo taken from the U14 Girls Club Championships held June 18-20 in North Shore. This year we were able to send 2 Cowichan Teams. Cowichan Gators played in Tier 2 and Cowichan Spice played in Tier 3. Both teams played very well. Congrats to Cowichan Spice for taking home a silver medal and Cowichan Gators for placing 4th. 2009 Field Hockey B.C. High Performance Championship was held at UBC campus April 24-26, 2009. A challenge that provided the team with experience, improved skill and great memories. A special thank you to Miranda Mann, Amber Thomas, and Caitlin Evans for coaching; as well as Yvonne Anderson for her managing of the team. The team missed Yvonne's presence at the Tournament due to circumstances, and hope Yvonne is on the road to a speedy recovery. The team and teams families appreciated all efforts put forth by Yvonne, Miranda, Caitlin, and Amber - You all contributed to make a successful tournament for all girls involved. They will all remember your constructive feedback and encouragement to consistently strive to improve. Thank You and good luck to all the future athletes.

BC U19 girls including Amber Thomas, Miranda Mann, Crystal Poland and Mary Neilson win gold at the 2008 Canadian National Junior Women's Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and silver in the 2008 Canadian National Senior Women's Championships in Calgary, Alberta. Cowichan's U14 boys placed 4th in BC Championships with a heartbreaking 3 -2 loss in playoffs. With only two - fourteen year olds in the lineup, Cowichan top thirteen year olds proved they will be a teem to be reckoned with at next years Championships. Click here to view some photos.

Three more Cowichan girls named to the Canadian National U23 developmental squad. Elise Milosovich (currently at UBC), Crystal Poland, Miranda Mann (Cowichan High School) and Mary Nielsen (Brentwood College) will join Dianna Roamer (carded national player) at the UBC training center this summer training under national coaches Sally Bell and Robin D Abreo. Posted Feb 4, COWICHAN (mid island) WINS 2008 U18 BC Indoor Championships in front of home crowd. Cowichan defeated last years champions by a convincing score of 5 - 1 in the gold medal game. Victoria won Bronze. Click here to view some photos.
